Worked when it felt like. It actually ruined the performance of my other front USBs. Once I removed it the front USBs worked fine. Read more

5 out of 5 eggs Works As Intended

Pros: Looks pretty well put together. Fits nicely where it's supposed to go. All the holes on the front line up with the slots.

    Cons: None, really. It works.

Bottom Line: I wish the LED lights on the front were blue instead of red. The red really throws off my whole "Blue LEDs only" policy. oh well.

4 out of 5 eggs Great for what it is.

    Pros: Single USB connector.
    Faceplates to match case.
    Supports many cards.
    Plug and play.

Cons: Only one USB 2.0 port.

Bottom Line: I have 4 USB 3.0 ports on my Lian Li PCD600 Case. I only wanted for the extra USB 2.0 and SD card slot and this fills up my last empty 5.25 drive bay in my massive case. The red LED's didn't match. Their tiny LEDs, and can't really be removed. They can be easily destroyed with a soldering iron tho. Once they're destroyed you can easily solder standard LEDs of which ever color you prefer. I omitted the status light and opted to install a single blue LED which stays on when a card is plugged in, but interesting, wont turn on with only a USB device.

I wish the cord was a little bit longer, It's just long enough for me to connect.

4 out of 5 eggs Decent

Pros: It does what it's meant to, but...(see cons)

Cons: The slots themselves aren't super well manufactures. For instance, getting a CF card inserted is the most annoying doesn't have a good insertion system for CF, so it's a pain to bother with it sometimes. Haven't had that problem with SD cards though.

Also, why the clear/silver USB extension? Why can't it be black like everything else? Dumb choice.

5 out of 5 eggs Plug and play! No extra drives!

Pros: Some others reported that this will show something like 5 unused drives even when nothing is plugged into the device. This is not my experience. Once the drivers automatically downloaded and installed with Windows update, all the extra drives disappeared.

A drive will only appear if something is inserted.

    Cons: Not much.

Bottom Line: Used on Windows 7

4 out of 5 eggs Simple and Functional

Pros: Quite frankly, it works. After reading some not so stellar reviews I decided to take the gamble for 12 bucks( thats what I paid anyway}. I've had it since 2012 and the card slots and usb still work. I do have to admit to not knowing if the cf card slot works though as I don't use those. Overall, pretty OK for cheap and can definitely reccomend as long as you're willing to take the bet. I'm pretty happy.

Cons: As others have said, the light is annoying. It's not insanely bright or anything but it is always on. My rig is on the floor though so I only really notice when going to bed.

3 out of 5 eggs Avoid if You Use Compact Flash

    Pros: Inexpensive
    Extra Face Plates

    Cons: Junk CF Reader
Light is on all the time

Bottom Line: Good for the dollar, but is different from the one pictured, no big deal. Build quality is cheap but not a real issue except for the Compact Flash reader. I'm a photographer and still use CF quite a bit. The pins on this reader bend very easily because it doesn't seat/guide the card in very well. After about 6 months of this one finally broke, never had that happen, ever. Everything else works fine for what it is but for my next one I'll spend a little more.

1 out of 5 eggs lights & USB work... nothing else

    Pros: lights & USB work

    Cons: Card readers are MIA.

Bottom Line: I had a similar multi-reader with USB in my machine. After 4 years of frequent use, the SD card reader failed. Should be a simple replacement, right? hmmph. I had to open both sides of the case, remove waayy too many screws, disconnect a bunch of cables to get the old motherboard plug out of the machines, then put the new one in. And guess what? Just like the old one, the lights and USB work, and the card readers don't. Am I gonna send it back and replace it? Too much like work!! I'll just chalk up the 11 bucks to "lesson learned", and get an external reader for my most common cards.

4 out of 5 eggs It Works, for now

Pros: its a 5 card + 1 USB 2.0 internal hub for 11 bucks that you don't have to connect to your power supply and lets you have more than one thing plugged in at a time despite only having one USB to motherboard connector. it also comes with a silver and a white/gray face-plate if it doesn't match your case in its default black color.

Cons: its a 5 card + USB internal hub for 11 bucks, so you get what you pay for. the build quality is questionable, the hubs read/write light is far to bright, its so bright i cut off a small piece of electrical tape to cover the lights. the lights also bleed through the CF/CF II dock because they didn't put any walls in-between the different slots. (See below, the hub i got is different than the one they advertise but still has the same functionality.) The read/write light also stays on constantly regardless of if your computer is on or off.

Bottom Line: this is a minor thing for me but as some of the other reviewers have mentioned the hub they shipped looks different than the one they advertise.(a picture of what mine looks like with mentioned tape first off the read/write lights are on the other side of the hub under where the USB 2.0 is in their picture and the lights are horizontal rather than vertical and both are red. On the top row of mine the ports go in this order from left to right. first you have the USB 2.0, then a T-Flash port, then an XD bay and a SD/MMC port on the right of the hub which has been combined into a single port rather than the weird double wide one they show. on the bottom row of the drive from left to right of the hub you have the read/write lights a CF/CF II dock and a MS/MS Duo port.

I've also seen that a few reviews have said that their hub stopped working after a few weeks, if mine fails i will update my review.

4 out of 5 eggs Wrong Item listed in the pictures

Pros: -It was dirt cheap i paid 10.99.
-It runs 5 cards all at once and uses a single connection.
-I never used the face plates but they are a nice touch.
-So far everything seems to be working perfect :).

Cons: -Different style than i ordered. The one pictured has four slots and a USB plug and mine has five slots and a USB plug. I don't know if its a con or a pro since its actually better than the one i ordered haha.
-It puts 5 new drives under "My Computer" AT ALL TIMES. Even if the reader is empty it still shows up drive letters for five drives, which isnt a big deal but i though it should e mentioned.

Bottom Line: I would definitely buy this again. I just needed something with a CF and SD card spot and this was spot on. Bytecc seems to make pretty decent stuff especially for the price.
