Quick Info

Warranty

  • Limited Warranty period (parts): 3 years
  • Limited Warranty period (labor): 3 years

  • newegg Built for Speed Corsair’s Force Series GT uses the new SandForce SF-2200 controller with native support for SATA 6Gb/s, combined with ONFI synchronous flash memory. Force Series GT SSDs deliver outstanding read/write performance and significantly faster system response, boot times, and application load times than SATA 2 solid-state drives, with out-of-box performance of up to 85K Random Write IOPS, read speeds of up to 555MB/s. The Force Series GT is particularly adept at moving compressed data. You'll appreciate this real-world benefit if you work with music, movie and graphics files.
  • newegg SSD Benifits – Reliability, Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks. Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.
  • newegg Trim Support The Force Series GT SSDs feature support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.
  • newegg 3.5" Adapter All Force Series GT SSDs are backward compatible with SATA 3Gb/s. The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Force Series GT SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

5 out of 5 eggs hot rod ssd

Pros: yes it is fast ! ...my new acer laptop went from a minute and a half boot up from a dead start to push the power button and your online in 20 seconds flat !

Cons: it's toooo fast , if you got fancy log on screens and pretty pictures to watch while your computer is booting up , your not going to see them anymore !....and I bought the same thing only the next size bigger (the 360GB) and loaned this one to my buddy to play with and he won't give it back !!!

Other Thoughts: just get one , any size, and crawl out of your cave and join the fast guys !

5 out of 5 eggs My first SSD

Pros: 1) Fast.
2) 22 second Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate boot time.
3) Most applications/games load at mind blowing speeds. (Comparatively)

Cons: 1) It's ruined me. I'll never be able to operate anything off a HDD outside of storage again.
2) I was unable to buy two of them.
3) Laundry wasn't done when I got home.

Other Thoughts: I've had this a year now. No problems. There's nothing else really to say. I could benchmark it for you but I'm not going to.

5 out of 5 eggs Best Upgrade I've Ever Done

Pros: Very Fast ,, Easy Install for me.

Cons: These things cannot do the laundry.

Other Thoughts: I installed 2 of these in a RAID0 setup on a Rampage Formula MoBo. That means SATAII only for me. In the Raid0 setup, Crystal Mark shows them at 523 MB/s Read and 517 MB/s Write. That is exactly what I expected considering my SATAII is holding the drives back. Double SATAII = 1 SATA III as far as speed. So far I'm super happy with them as my startup up time is halved to under a minute and a reboot is done in just under a minute. Installing drivers and games is lighting fast now to. Game loads and map loads are much quicker and my old system FEELS much snappier. These will get swapped over to my next build. I can't wait to see the SATAIII Raid0 speeds.

5 out of 5 eggs Works so well it's scary

Pros: Fast Fast FAST!!!! Easy install.

Cons: Ummm, It won't do my laundry?

Other Thoughts: I installed two of these in a RAID0 setup on a,, wait for it, X48 chipset Rampage Formula MoBo. No SATA 3 for me, SATA2 only. But the RAID0 setup yielded 517 MB/s Read and 518 MB/S write. As I suspected raiding a SATA 2 will produce results similar to a single SATA 3. This was an upgrade from a WD 150 GB Raptor,, not a Velociraptor but the old Rapttor. Huge improvement. My Windows score with this setup is 7.9,, compared to 5.9 on the old drive. I did a clean install and so far so good. My reboot times are halved from 1 minutes 55 seconds to just under a minute. I haven't actually timed a cold boot but my BIOS takes longer to load than windows does. Get em, you will love em.

5 out of 5 eggs Stupid Fast!

Pros: Extremely fast write and read, incredible boot times, games launch insanely fast. I have had this for over a year now and no failure on it at all, don't forget win 7 and 8 support TRIM a great feature on this SSD.

I have a few select games on here that if I click to launch I can't blink or I will miss the load splash screen. Transfering? YES PLEASE! 198MB/s confirmed to a 7200 RPM sub drive! Bottom line these drives are fast, reliable, and incredible.

Cons: I didn't get two, the only thing that would of been better was striping and 500GB of SSD density. Don't forget these are 2.5" so if you're using them with a desktop you will need to get a 3.5" bracket for them, this came with a 3.5 bracket if I remember correctly.

Other Thoughts: Don't believe all the SSD failure rate you hear, these guys sport great customer service and even better products! Also, when you hear about them having a write limit remember two things: 1, you're not going to format 100k times in the forseable future and 2, TRIM support is everything!

If you do not know what TRIM is look it up and be enlightened, I am glad I took the time to research before purchasing.

5 out of 5 eggs FAST

Pros: Runs fast, runs cool, runs quiet

Cons: Price? (Like all SSD's)

Other Thoughts: I run a Minecraft Server on this thing (which is known for its constant Hard Drive usage) and the drive is still going strong 6 months later. Really happy with the performance increase.

5 out of 5 eggs Corsair Force GT 240GB

Pros: Color, Weight, Speed, Reputation, Simplicity, Speed, More Speed

Cons: No Coffee Maker

Other Thoughts: This is a great SSD, not much more to say. Finished putting this in a new work build for my dads office, and the PC boots in 11 seconds with a 3820, Asus P9X79 LE, Arc Midi, Hyper 212 Evo, Vengeance 16 GB 1600, GT 610, CX 500Wt, on Windows 7.

5 out of 5 eggs SSD

Pros: Very silent, very fast. Plug it in, load your dvd and it takes about a half an hour to load your operating system

Cons: I've only had it in for less than 24 hours. So we shall see.

Other Thoughts: Did I say it was fast, and silent? Yah, a plus. My windows index rose from a 5.9 to a 6.1. I haven't really seen any faster boot time yet. But that doesn't really matter to me. It only took a minute anyways.
I had read in a review below that if you have a SATA2 MB that buying this would be a waste. Nonsense. It's all backwards compatible. The only thing it does is create a bottleneck with the speeds. You will not reach the optimum speed. But that's it. It does work.
When I was reinstalling my OS it would not take my Reg keys. But I don't think it's the SSD's fault. Probably just some MS bug.
But it works fine, and will make a great addition when I start my new build at the first of the Year.
