1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Took me about 5 mos. to figure out what my computer problem was, starting two weeks after building my computer. I was getting very frequent "Video Hardware Error" and "Graphics Driver Failed" errors while playing games and Flash failures when watching youtube. Started replacing compy parts when it was in my budget since drivers, new fans, and OS reinstalls didn't help; this had been causing it. Put a new HDD in and tried to use this as a backup or something, but now it is completely dead. Upset I lost $70 on this.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great Drive buy it on sale and you'll not regret.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: My opinion is that 500GB(465GB usable) drives are better than larger storage drives like 2 / 3 TB HDDs if the RPM say here 7200rpm you essentially would just have more space to seek through taking more time to find what you're needing and after the drive has been used for a while it will take longer to find places to write and so forth but depending on usage the larger drives have their place. I'm a don't keep all the eggs in one basket approach to storage myself.

5 out of 5 eggs Good size, and price

Pros: Not sure what to say. It's an HDD. It's only been corrupted by RAM. I though the hard drive had gone bad, but after extensive testing in other computers, the RAM was the problem. This HD is almost a year old, and running strong. I have moved it to my linux in exchange for a much faster SSD.

Cons: No cons for this product per se. However, I would not reccomend buying an HDD. I have had an SSD in this build to replace the HDD and I would hands down recommend and computer aficionado to purchase an SSD instead of an HDD. These are only good for storage. Also, it is compatible with Sata-USB 3.0 converters, so you can use this as external if you wish.

Other Thoughts: If you are dead set on buying an HDD I would reccomend this product, but if you are just looking to build a computer, DO NOT BUY THIS. you want to buy an SSD, not an HDD. HDD is a thing of the past. SSD's are uncomprehendingly faster. If you play offline games with an SSD and enough ram, you may never see load times again.

5 out of 5 eggs Great drive

Pros: Fast, quiet, and reliable.

Cons: not ssd

Other Thoughts: I've used the drive for 4 months without any problems. I replaced a Samsung drive with this Hitachi and it's much faster. I'm going to buy another drive.

1 out of 5 eggs 2nd drive has now DIED!!!!!

Pros: NONE. Unless you like to waste money and time.

Cons: Horrible quality. First drive died within first week of use. Had to RMA back to newegg and got a replacement. Now here it a month or so later and the second drive has now died.

Other Thoughts: Will not boot, just locks up the machine. I even pulled it out and tried to put in another machine just to see if I could read from it. With the drive hooked up to another machine it would not even boot. It kept the other machine from booting. Pulled it out and booted. These drives are a total waste of time and money. I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of this drive. Especially since this drive is in my wife's machine and now she cannot use it until I get a replacement or refund and get her another one. I really wished I had just stuck with a Western Digital like I always have and avoided the head ache that is Hitachi.
