    Cheap and does its job

Considering Win 7 Pro costs about as much as the whole PC, you cant build a cheaper version with a legit copy of 7 Pro. Decently quiet, powerful enough for Office, internet, and basic office type use. Read more

5 out of 5 eggs Great Buy but typical HP

Pros: Cannot be beat for cost of a good business workstation.

Cons: Typical HP. This is a built only for business rig and they load it as if it is a home computer. Must have at least 20 games installed on it plus a ton of other junk. It can be removed but such a waste of time. I did a new install using the restore disks that come with it and they load every piece of junk back on again. The restore with the disks takes 4 hours to complete. WOW. I did a new install with a Windows 7 Pro OEM disk using the numbers on the COA on the case. By the time I was done with Microsoft getting it activated I could just as well of settled for the HP restore disks. Sure wish HP shipped a disk of just the operating system so I could do a clean install. HP wonders why they are losing sales. This is a big part of their business sales loss when Dell ships the Windows install disk.

5 out of 5 eggs A Good Deal

    Pros: Processor Speed
    Win 7 Pro
    ***Cost

    Cons: Ram
    HDD Space

Bottom Line: Dr_Bob's review is a very accurate assessment. I believe to give this item less than 5 is inaccurate. This PC is ideal for office environments.

Exactly as stated, you cannot build a legit PC with win 7 pro for this kind of money. And if you're looking at an office/workstation use, then the optical drive doesn't mean much as you don't usually want them burning discs anyway. Also, USB sticks are a much more viable solution these days.

If you're in an office environment, you also don't want your users to be saving 500+ gb of info on their desktops, so the small hdd is perfect imho. You want them storing info on a network share where it can be backed up properly. When you have users saving that kind of data on their computers, you're asking for major headaches when their hdd fails.

Definitely up the ram in this, but that's easy and cheap.

This PC is also good for casual home use - Internet/email/facebook/farmville/solitaire.

5 out of 5 eggs Cheap and does its job

Pros: Considering Win 7 Pro costs about as much as the whole PC, you cant build a cheaper version with a legit copy of 7 Pro. Decently quiet, powerful enough for Office, internet, and basic office type use.

Cons: No DVD burner - they only cost about $19 if needed.
160GB HDD - like I said, cheap but big enough for light use
    1 GB of DDR3 - I added a 2GB for $25
Slow - added RAM to help

Bottom Line: If you need a cheap office PC with Professional so you can join Domains in an AD environment, hard to find a cheaper, more usable system.

4 out of 5 eggs GOOD BUY

Pros: THE PRICE IS KEY , GOOD BUY RUNS SMOOTH QUIET FAN. IM THE MANAGER / LEAd tech for a sprint service center. ive also done it work i picked this up for my 11 year old who was working with a pentium III that. i have no complaints so far.

Cons: the optical drive while not that big an issue because i have dvd burners to spare laying around, i build systems for a hobby. its pretty powerful for the price but i will be upgrading it to 2 gb ddr3 and adding a dvd burner.

Bottom Line: its powerful but if you are a hard core gamer this may not be the one for you.

    4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive, but powerful enough to run most programs well. I am the defacto IT guy at an auto dealership, and have bought a half-dozen of these for our business. They work well for what we ask of them.

Cons: No, it doesn't have a CD burner. Of course, if you wanted one with it you may want to pay an extra $25 bucks and get one with. We had one that had the hard drive fail but HP was very good about getting it replaced under warranty. For that I'd reduce the eggs to four.

Bottom Line: If you are looking for a cheap yet decent computer I'd recommend.

3 out of 5 eggs DVD/CD-ROM does not burn media

    Pros: Smooth running.

Cons: Included with this unit is a DVD/CD-ROM.

The cd player therefore DOES NOT BURN CD'S AND DVD.

The dvd/cd player is a useless piece of **** for me but it's my fault for not reading the details on the optical drive at the web page. I never knew that there's optical drives that don't burn media.

Bottom Line: With the DVD/CD-ROM, I therefore would not ever recommend getting this computer.
