4 out of 5 eggs Good, cheap basic card

Pros: I bought this card to provide rudimentary graphics capability to run KDE on a Linux server. This was needed to use several apps that only ran in a GUI. It worked well in an old, repurposed Dell 2950 server that lacked enough onboard graphics horsepower for a Linux GUI.

The card worked well for this, although Ubuntu server needed to be installed first as a non-GUI using only the onboard graphics. The card proved incompatible with Windows on the 2950 as well as any OS on more recent Dell servers (R320, R710). It now lives in a SuperMicro box and has been running for 8 months without problems.

Cons: The fan is noisy. I would not want to listen to it in a desktop environment. In a server rack, with dozens of fans screaming at 9000 RPM, it isn't an issue.

1 out of 5 eggs Died after a few weeks.

Pros: Inexpensive.

Cons: Didn't last past a few weeks.
Started to flicker and then died altogether.

Bottom Line: I'm RMAing this one.
We'll see how long that process takes and how long the new one lasts.

1 out of 5 eggs Missing Red

Pros: Can see what I am supposed to see.

Cons: There is no red.Since I rushed this out once I finished the build, My wife needed software to be loaded by our IT group at work. I just assumed the blue green was a Win 8 color scheme. Since we were hit by Artic blasts, the machine sat at work for 2 weeks. When it came back, I realized that the greenblue was not a color scheme, but a red deficit. Since I am now beyond 30 days, I have to try to deal with EVGA, or just eat it.

Bottom Line: I should have gone to B&Mcenter that sells Microcomputers :(

Manufacturer Responses:

4 out of 5 eggs Good value

Pros: Needed a cheap video card for a refurbished HP dc7900 computer I bought here as I am not a fan of using a VGA connection to my 60" LED LCD TV. This card is budget friendly, has a HDMI port on it that would supply both video and audio to my TV on one convenient HDMI cable. Installation was a cinch though I did have to upgrade my power supply to meet the minimum power requirement of this card, and, at least with the dc7900 computer, had to go into the BIOS to re-enable the on-board audio as this card will install its own NVidia audio drivers to allow for you to utilize the audio/video function of the HDMI cable.

Cons: As others have mentioned, the fan on this card is quite loud. It won't be a big issue for me as my computer will be located inside a cabinet that has doors on it, but if you have it sitting out in the open, you will hear the fan.

2 out of 5 eggs Decent, if I could get it to work with XP!!

Pros: The card is actually what I need, and it works flawlessly in every distro of Linux that I've used with it thus far, however...

Cons: This card is $%@& with XP! I can get the computer to boot up after installing the card, but then, as soon as I reboot after installing the latest drivers from the site, the monitor gives me nothing but artifacts, making the computer completely useless with XP. I highly recommend that Nvidia gets this card's drivers working.

Bottom Line: I feel like this card would work rather well, but, that's if it worked. I'm very upset, and this was a bad way to start testing Nvidia cards. Personally, stick with any other AMD/ATI card in this price range, you get way more for your money, IMO.

4 out of 5 eggs Works

Pros: Runs 2 monitors, connectors for VGA, HDMI, DVI.

Cons: Odd display delays in rare situations. Maybe related to multi-card multi-display setup.

Bottom Line: Does the job I wanted it to, add more monitors.

5 out of 5 eggs Great value cards

Pros: These are perfect cards for the workplace, they fit full and half height style cases so no matter where you need to use it this will work.

Cons: The Dell Optiplex 3010's I bought these video cards for dont support them... I have never had this kind of problem in the past but for anyone looking to use them in a Dell Optiplex 3010 use a "supported" card on the list for that computer...

5 out of 5 eggs Good solid card for HTPC

Pros: I needed a low profile card that did not draw too many watts of power for a small HTPC.
PROS: Fan is quiet (Yes, I heard lots of complaints about noisy fans but I did not have that problem with this one)
Low power use (could probably get away with running fanless for basic non-gamer use).
Has good video processing power for DivX, MP4, MKV.
Has much more speed than the Intel Onboard graphics.
Noticed immediate improvement in video quality and smooth playback.

Cons: CONS: Non observed. Will see how it behaves when I update the driver to latest version.

Bottom Line: Good basic card. Definitely not a modern gamer card but it is great for what I need. Home Theater PC doesn't demand that much from the card but the onboard video card was not up to the task.

2 out of 5 eggs Beware: Driver issues

Pros: Graphics were very good...when it worked.

Cons: Drivers are an issue with this card. During the past two days, I've tried six different drivers based on various Forum recommendations. It seems that this card has a lot of issues depending on motherboard. Mine is an Intel DP965LT that I'm setting up for my wife to use for email & surfing.

Bottom Line: I've been building 'puters since the 80's. I'll go with AMD or ATI next time.

Manufacturer Responses:

Hello, Please try the new Beta driver that was just released: 326.19. If you continue to have issues, please contact us at 888-881-3842 so we can further assist you. Thank you, Brandon B
