Pros: Reasonably priced. Good performance, power envelope for a workstation

Cons: Can use more cores!

Bottom Line: Using with Asus ASUS KGPE-D16 motherboard two sockets for total 32 cores. Was able to reduce C++ application build time in Visual Studio from 16 minutes (previous workstation with 2 Shanghai 2.3Gh 2376, total 8 cores) to 8 minutes now. Not bad but not the 4x performance though, but good enough.

Pros: High core density, low temperatures, excellent performance. Easy install and no issues.

Cons: I would have liked to be able to buy even more cores!

Bottom Line: This let me drop 32 cores into a single can with only two sockets. Can't beat that with a stick when it comes to per-socket licensing. Currently hosting 8 Windows servers, with plenty of room and capacity for more.

Pros: The 16 cores

Cons: Seems to be 70% percent as efficient as xeon, but more than makes up for it with 16cores.

Bottom Line: For computer animation and rendering, it's the chip for the job. No issues.
