    Nice RAM, Bad QA

G.SKILL apparently has bad QA. I've had two sets fail on me now. The heat spreaders stick up just a bit too much. I would likely not be able to fill all four of my slots with this RAM, as one stick doesn't look like it'd fit under the CPU ... Read more

4 out of 5 eggs Good Memory

Pros: This things really took the abuse, reliable as always

    Overclocked decently
    whats not to love?

daily at stock clocks for the most part was fast enough

Cons: High Price, much higher now than when i bought these sticks a while ago. Was thinking of picking up more for a Intel build but might just have to wait to see what the markets are going to do.. especially with ddr4 around the corner ;)

Bottom Line: Have used gskill for years, my one stick did actually die on me, just one day did not turn on. tested the stick sure enough RMA was painless great company to work with. This is what will make me a repeat customer!

5 out of 5 eggs Great deal on 16GB of RAM

Pros: Came with a case sticker, works just fine out of the box, haven't tried to OC or anything. I'm gonna buy another one of these once the price comes down again!

    Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggs Product came in partially open package

    Pros: Great price, works well

Cons: Product came in a partially opened package

Bottom Line: I didn't want to take the time to get a refund or return, so I went ahead and installed the memory. My PC has been running with it installed constantly since Friday and I have no issues. It was just disappointing that it came in that condition.

    Manufacturer Responses:

. Dear Customer Glad to hear you got the RAM at a great price and they work well in your system. This is a high performance, high capacity memory kit that should work extremely well in any new build. With 16GB installed, the operating system can remain nice and smooth under heavy loads and extensive use. With regards to the receiving condition, it is strange to receive a partially opened package, but don't worry, you are backed by both NewEgg and G.Skill. Rest assured when you buy G.Skill, you are guaranteed perfect looking and working RAM in your computer for life. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know. Pros: runs at specs and even faster. Would buy more if I need it.

    Cons: None at all.

Bottom Line: I like these over my Corsair memory. It operates well over specs than my Vengeance ram.

    1 out of 5 eggs

    Pros: None yet

Cons: Got it out of the box, popped it in, instantly fried...May just be a bad batch but until replaced it gets a 1 egg rating.

    Manufacturer Responses:

. Dear Customer We are sorry to hear you are having such issues. Please test one module at a time to see if the system can boot up. If both modules have the same exact problem, the issue may lie elsewhere. If only one module performs differently, send them in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work much better. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. Once you receive a new replacement, enable XMP/DOCP in BIOS, or manually input settings, then the memory can run at full speed. Should you need any further assistance, please feel free to let us know. Thank you GSKILL SUPPORT Quality and customer service are our top priorities. 5 out of 5 eggs Good sticks of RAM

Pros: Can't really complain about ram unless it comes DOA which can happen. No issues with compatibility on my motherboard, but had to set the speed to 1600MHz (probably due to the bios) but that isn't an issue at all. Purchased 3 sets of this ram for 3 builds and have never had issues with g.skill

    Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggs Check BIOS for XMP setting!

Pros: So far so good. I've had 8GB of RAM in my system for the past three years (CAS 7!) but started to see errors in Windows complaining that I was using too much. And I probably was, with huge Illustrator files and dozens of Firefox tabs open at a time. I started getting some blue-screens while working on sensitive projects and I knew it was time to add some RAM.

My only real worry was that the CAS 9 of this set would slow down my CAS 7's. Well, I'm dual-channeling it, and I notice no difference, so that's great. And so far (or at least after my initial setup error), no blue screens, and no memory warnings! I'm satisfied.

Cons: After I installed these, I booted up and Windows crashed after about 2 minutes. Blue screen. Then Windows wouldn't boot up at all. "GREAT," I thought. Windows got that memtest running, and it failed brilliantly. Then I noticed the memtest was reading the timings of my memory at 7-7-7... which looked suspiciously like my original RAM timings, and not at all like the new ones. Hmmm.... a quick dive into BIOS and I realized my timing settings were set to Manual. There was also an option for XMP. I switched to XMP, and it must be some kind of auto setting, because it fixed everything instantly. I haven't had a single crash since.

So that's my own fool mistake, I guess, but if you're having trouble with this RAM be sure to check that XMP setting!

Bottom Line: Almost bought two. This RAM is fast and way cheaper than most of the 32GB kits available right now.
