5 out of 5 eggs Good

Pros: Came in quick. Hoping that it wouldn't come DOA, and to my luck it works perfectly. Simple setup and simple install. I have had no problem with this item whatsoever.

Cons: None that I can see so far.

5 out of 5 eggs Great Drive

Pros: Works great. Good speed. Nothing bad to report here.

Cons: None so far !

Bottom Line: Would've been nice if it came in a WD box instead of just a silver static bag, but I won't deduct points for that.

5 out of 5 eggs Its good!

Pros: This is a small drive however I was going cheap on my first drive and getting a 3-4 TB soon! But I have no complaints at all. It was an OEM so no wires or anything but my mother board had plenty!

Cons: None

Bottom Line: Just like a HDD should do, work!

5 out of 5 eggs Great hard drive!

Pros: This hard drive has been providing reliable storage for over a year now. I have no complaints. The read and write speeds are as well as can be expected for a magnetic hard drive, especially for the price!

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggs Western Digital WD Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive - OEM

Pros: The hard drive works fine, like it is supposed to do. No problems at all.

Cons: None.

Bottom Line: The first one I ordered would not initialize. DOA.
True to form, Newegg shipped out a second drive as a replacement and it was fine, no problems. Kudos to Newegg for having the best replacement policy of anybody.

5 out of 5 eggs Great Hardrive

Pros: This drive is pretty fast and is quiet. Has had no data loss or any other problems. Has worked great as a secondary HDD with an SDD as the main drive. Has everything you need in an HDD.

Cons: None

Bottom Line: For the price, this drive is absolutely worth it. Western Digital made another great product.

1 out of 5 eggs Absolute JUNK!

Pros: None that comes to mind

Cons: Ordered 100 in Feb. 2014. Began loading Win7 Pro and installing in April into PCs for an upgrade from XP project. Within 2 weeks, drives started failing. Seemed to be related to a shutdown or reboot. Drive would start clicking and not come back up; system displayed "insert proper boot device". When checking BIOS/CMOS, the drives were not even listed as present, like the I/O was somehow dead.
As of June 01, have received 30+ drives returned and numerous others that were discarded by customers when I shipped Seagate replacements. At present, I believe that at least 50% of these have died.
Worst customer experience I have ever had with a product, as it reflected poorly on my company in this project.
NewEgg's policy was beyond the 30 day RMA when I actually had enough of these collected to determine this must be a defective product. I have contacted WD directly and await their response. I do not wish to receive replacements, as I feel that I cannot take the risk.
All of the defective ones appear to have been manufactured in Dec. 2013 in Malaysia.

Bottom Line: I have used WD drives in the past with much success, but as stated above, this one bites hard.
The Seagates that I used as replacements all still seem to be working fine, so I think that eliminates the possibility that this is environmental or misuse at play.
