    Worked Perfectly

    - Does not require external power like other adapters I've seen, it's fully powered by your computers USB port! - Cable is bendable, not stiff like other adapters - Never dropped the connection to my SSD while cloning - Comes with cloning software ... Read more

Not compatible with ASMedia 3.0 Chipset

4 out of 5 eggs Easier to use that I though!

Pros: Easy to use software. Price is not too bad either.

Cons: Nothing I can think of!

Bottom Line: Used this to clone a 500GB HDD to a 500GB SSD. I just got tired of the excessive noise that was coming off the HDD and the fan. Transfer took longer than I hoped for, but it might have something to do with the fact that I was using a 2.0 port to transfer (didn't have a choice there since laptop was ancient, an old Sony VPCC-Series). Don't forget to pop the CD out when you're done or else you might freak out when you restart your PC/laptop and it boots up on the software.

    4 out of 5 eggs

    Pros: Worked perfect

    Cons: cost, a little high

Bottom Line: Probably could get by with just getting the interface and using free software. This cable looked to be a higher quality than others and I will say it is good quality.

    5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very nice. 850 Evo didn't come with cable. Cloned a Kingston 120gb V300 SSD to a 500gb Samsung 850 Evo SSD that had Windows 8.1 Pro, took 10 minutes top, was running low on storage for my boot drive, PC is using amd fx8350, software formatted SSD for me as well. Also cloned my dads old 320GB HDD in his laptop to a 500gb Samsung 850 Evo SSD that was running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit, his took 4 hours to clone, but that is probably due to having to use a USB 2.0 port and cloning from a 5400rmp drive or his core 2 duo, or stupid windows vista, but definitely not the cloning software. See other thoughts on cloning dad's laptop. Both PCs run flawlessly. Didn't notice any difference in boot times on my PC, but for my dad's laptop it now takes about 25 seconds compared to 5+ painful minutes. Needless to say he was impressed to see his laptop running as fast as it is now.

Cons: See above... I can't get my dad to upgrade to Windows 7 or 8. Fingers crossed for 10. Some people just like to punish themselves I guess.

Bottom Line: Not sure what happened when trying to clone my dad's HDD to SSD, but it didn't work initially, kept freezing up when trying to select destination drive. Again it was a sluggish and old system he is running. I just hooked up the SSD to my PC, formatted the SSD, and plugged it back into his USB port and everything worked. Great tool to keep in your bag for trouble shooting friends HDDs You can plug this into old laptop HDDs or SSDs and use them as portable drives. Literally about 5 clicks to clone your drive..

1 out of 5 eggs Notebook HD ONLY

Pros: For notebook computers only! Now must look for a powered dock to clone my data before I loose my current hard drive which is dying. ONLY for NOTEBOOK hard drives!

Cons: You must buy a powered docking station for use with desktop computer hard drives. The usb port doesn't have enough power to run a desktop hard drive.

5 out of 5 eggs Works like it should

    Pros: No AC Adapter required
Works great with 2.5 inch hdd (laptop harddrives)
    small and lightweight
works with intel usb 3.0 chipsets (series 8 intel for me)

    Cons: none

Bottom Line: *used it to clone my 256gb ssd to 512gb ssd (samsung 840 pro's) and worked like a champ with acronis true image 2015
*ONLY WORKS WITH 2.5 inch DRIVES ALSO KNOWN AS LAPTOP HARDDRIVES. WILL NOT WORK WITH 3.5MM (DESKTOP) HARDDRIVES BECAUSE A USB PORT CANNOT PROVIDE ENOUGH POWER FOR IT.
*if you need one for a 3.5inch get a powered usb dock. thermaltake is good for that.

5 out of 5 eggs Fast and Easy

Pros: It works, it’s reasonably fast and its super easy.
No settings or anything, just plug in the new drive, set the local drive to clone and hit “clone”.
    Even worked with a multi-partition Win7 / Ubuntu setup.

Cons: A bit more control over partitions would be helpful.

5 out of 5 eggs Simple, and Worth it !

Pros: Does what it says and more.
Simple to use, and does most everything for you.

Cons: Cable could be longer, but that's not really a problem.

Bottom Line: Life can be so complicated....get this and make it easy for once.

1 out of 5 eggs Didn't do anything for me

Pros: it's got everything you need to do cloning

    Cons: But it didn't work!!

Bottom Line: I got Windows 8.1 on a brand new laptop and wanted to move to a Samsung EVO 250GB SSD, tried a couple of times but didn't work. After cloning is done, I switched to the SSD for boot up but Windows asked for Recovery Drive instead, so this cloning kit didn't do the job. Didn't have a chance to try it on Windows 7 though.
