    Top Critical Review

    Not an impressive start

Came with a bad USB 3.0 cable I guess. Have been using UV+ 19 for a year or so. Got this as an upgrade and handing down the UV+ 19 to another user. Plugged into my monitor and USB 2.0 connection on my laptop. Light came on for the device...no ... Read more

5 out of 5 eggs Great Device

Pros: Literally installed the drivers and plugged it in, worked first try with no further configuration. Have had no issues since I started using it to drive two 1920x1080 displays.

Cons: Would be nice if it came with some kind of mounting bracket or adhesive pad, but not really a con.

I also wish it had come with another HDMI port or a DisplayPort instead of DVI, but again, not really a con.

Bottom Line: I was actually shocked at how painless this was to set up and how well it worked. I bought this half-expecting it wouldn't work at all, I've had pretty bad luck with USB-driven display hardware in the past. The only reason I tried it is because of past dealings with EVGA and the great support they've offered.

It's currently attached to a Pentium-based NUC running Windows 10 Pro, still going strong.

5 out of 5 eggs Solved My Issues

Pros: Works with Windows 10, update drivers are on the manufacture website. Needed a device that would support 3 monitors with a pc that did not have a display port or using a video card that would kill the power supply. This fit the bill. Easy installation and works well. Would recommend if you are trying to add on 3 to 4 monitors.

Cons: I have not seen any cons with this device.

Bottom Line: Manufacture was extremely helpful. Quick phone pick up and good support. Just be sure to follow the directions and install your drivers first before installing the device. It does require a usb 3.0 port.

4 out of 5 eggs Wish I had known!!!

Pros: It works! No games, no "well, you have to jump through hoops! sorry about that!" When Windows boots up, you'll have a display. It even seems to work thru a hub and a USB extension cable! (at least for me) It does require an open USB 3.0 port.

Cons: If I had a complaint, it's not this products fault. It's just that I have older motherboards (AMD) and Windows has to boot before the display comes on. Maybe the newer motherboards can go their USB 3.0 ports at power-on. Don't know.

Bottom Line: When I made some purchases last year, I bought an AOC USB powered monitor. I had bought a larger main monitor and had an ACER H226HQL 1920x1080 monitor just collecting dust. Had I'd known about this UV Plus+, I might have not bothered with the AOC. It comes with cables. All in all a good purchase!

5 out of 5 eggs Awesome

Pros: Works great!! I installed the drivers and everything runs fine. I'm running four displays total two 1600x900 off my laptop and two 1280x1024 off of this and there is little to no lag with USB 2.0 even while watching YouTube or Netflix

    Cons: None

Bottom Line: I am using a DVI to VGA adaptor and an HDMI to VGA adaptor on the two 1280x1024 monitors and display port to VGA adaptor for one of the 1600x900 monitors

1 out of 5 eggs Blue Screen of DEATH

Pros: The graphic design of the box itself is nice.

Cons: The drivers are terrible, the customer service is clueless as they don't even write the drivers themselves.

Bottom Line: DO NOT BUY this even if you're an engineer like myself! The company tells you that if anything is wrong with installation you must have old drivers, which need updating. After the blue screen crash they were able to offer detailed instructions on getting back up, so how is that possible if nothing ever goes wrong. After several emails, they inform me that they don't actually write the drivers themselves, but that DisplayLink does. Look them up! Plenty of BLUE SCREEN issues which were obviously downplayed by the tech support from EVGA.

They offer an RMA for teh unit, and it seems some other customers have done that but experienced the same issues afterward.

UNLESS you are capable of writing your own software drivers, this purchase would be a great mistake.

5 out of 5 eggs Lost for words

Pros: Slap this baby in and you get another monitor or desktop extension. Works, and works very well. Easy and simple. Love it! Do you get the impression that this is the coolest thing since sliced bread? Well it is. Buy it.

    Cons: None.

Bottom Line: Going to have to order a handful of these things and see how many monitors I can add before wife throws me out of the house!

5 out of 5 eggs EVGA Rocks

Pros: IT WORKS PERFECTLY...For those who want gaming - get a clue - there is NO VID PROCESSOR in the box. How do you expect it to render anything that complex? This little wonger allowed me to get quad display on my laptop (23" touchscreen (running 1920x1080) and the laptop display (at 1366x768) were on the onboard card. The EVGA was pushing 23" touchscreen (running 1920x1080) and my projector (at 1280x1024)

Cons: non that can be corrected....Laptop only has 2 USB so I had to use one for the device and get a hub for the second.

Bottom Line: I highly recommend this. I take it home and to the office just so I have all my monitors with me. I also take it on tech jobs in case needed. Its small enough...Y NOT?

4 out of 5 eggs Works Great

Pros: Cheaper than buying another computer. Small, Easy to install on Windows 7

    Cons: A little Lag.

Bottom Line: This works perfect for application uses. I wouldnt want to watch video or play games on it but if your IT guy at work buys new computers with out 2 video out's then you need something like this.

3 out of 5 eggs Decent

Pros: Pretty cool to have 3 monitors running from my laptop. It really helps with productivity at work.

Cons: The HDMI output is horrible. Every day I get in to the office and plug my laptop in, I have to fiddle with the HDMI cable. Push it up, then down, sometimes put something on top of it so it's being pushed up. I generally spend around 5 minutes each day doing this. I've been too lazy to send it back and I'm sure it's too late. I'm sure it is a one off and not all of these have bad HDMI connections.

Bottom Line: It DOES disable the graphics card if installed. My laptop is running a GeForce discreet card and it becomes disabled when I plug in the EVGA adapter. So my monitor plugged into the HDMI on my LAPTOP (not the HDMI on the EVGA product) is being run off of the Intel 4600. Not a big deal because I don't game on this thing, but something to note for some...
