    Best Fan 4 Cooling

I replaced the AP181 that came with my Silverstone TJ08B-E case. The quality of the AP182 is miles ahead. It pushes twice as much air. Can also operate silent on 500 - 700 rpm and it STILL KEEPS MY CASE TEMPS cool. Read more

    Big and burly but delicate!

    1. The fan controller cable is nicely sleeved and thick; but, i think, it makes it easy for the cable to be disconnected or detached or break off from the fan controller completely, thus, making the fan almost useless for me. See other thoughts. Read more

3 out of 5 eggs Big and burly but delicate!

Pros: 1. The off-white color makes it more unique looking than plain black fans

    2. Quiet w/ included fan controller

    3. Pushes a lot of air

Cons: 1. The fan controller cable is nicely sleeved and thick; but, i think, it makes it easy for the cable to be disconnected or detached or break off from the fan controller completely, thus, making the fan almost useless for me. See other thoughts.

Bottom Line: So, I bought these fans mostly to bling up my Silverstone Fortress FT05 silver w/ window case; I was happy with the included AP181 fans. But, thought, to splurge on the AP182's since they're technically better and they'd, sort of, make the case look different than stock and thus more "unique."

But, as I was installing the fan controller by taking it off the PCI bracket and putting it into my case, I managed to break off the cable. I was very careful with it, too. Yet, I still managed to break it. I think the cable connection is just too delicate. And, this would not be so bad. But, for me, it made the fan useless since I don't wanna take the risk of connecting the fan into my motherboard since it is not recommended. Unless, your motherboard can take the 1.3A specification for these fans. I think most motherboards, including mine, are only rated for 1A. I also didn't wanna run the fan at full blast all the time by connecting it straight to the PSU without the broken fan controller. It's too noisy. So, I now have one AP182 fan and an AP181 fan in my case creating a mismatch black and white thing happening, which I don't mind. But, of course, I prefer a more uniform look and also don't wanna waste $32 plus shipping/handling/tax for that fan.

5 out of 5 eggs AMAZING FANS

Pros: lol ridiculously great fans, maybe the best on the market as far as perfomance goes. I bought 2 of these to put in my Cooler Master Haf-X nVidia edition case. It not only keeps the case cool, but drops my CPU temps 5-9C cooler. they are mounted above my Noctua DH-15 cooler and i am shocked at the performance of these fans....I have had Cooler Master and BitFenix top of the line fans in this case and none compare at all.
    --adjustable fan controls
    --incredible design
you can crank these fans up to 2000RPM--great for Benchmarking,

Cons: Can be quite loud @ 2000RPM, what do you expect though.

Bottom Line: I was nervous about spending 32+ dollars per fan, just do it!
I have an I7-4790k and the combo of the Noctua DH-15 and these fans is just silly, best air cooling for the money hands down.
These fans will also be great for cooling a radiator when you go liquid cooling.

5 out of 5 eggs Excellent Fan

Pros: Using this to cool two 290x's that mine 24/7. Keep them nice and cool, below 83C.

Cons: Would be nice if it came with a filter. Had to purchase a seperate 180mm Silverstone filter, and it gets clogged with dust rather quickly since this fan is so powerful.

It is also rather pricey, but it's high quality and built to last.

3 out of 5 eggs Arrived with a terrible grinding noise

Pros: Should be a great fan once I RMA

Cons: Terrible grinding noise after installing in case. Nothing hitting the fan, its the bearings.

Bottom Line: Bought to replace one of the the AP181s that came in my Raven RV03. Will update once I get a working one.

5 out of 5 eggs Best Fan 4 Cooling

    Cons: None.

Bottom Line: Works as promised. Superior build quality. You only need this fan and air-cpu cooler fan to heavy overclock. A third rear fan is not even needed. Great job Silverstone!!

    4 out of 5 eggs AP182

Pros: These are the strongest 180mm I have seen. These fans can really push some air. Had to knock off 1 egg because I can't get them to run on low RPM's
I have 4 set on a 1080 rad and it is like a window fan blowing.
These are some high amps fans and you need at least a 30watt per channel controller for each one. 1.8amp *12v = 21.6w.
They come with a PCI bracket fan controller. See cons

Cons: I can not seem to get the fans to run at the 500 or 700rpm's.
Hard to tell, but they only seem to like the higher speeds, in turn comes the higher dBA. I can not get them to run very quiet.
The PCI controller that it comes with is very fragile. I broke off one of the wires with slight normal handling.
Take note if you use a different fan controller.

Bottom Line: Overall these are some well built, heavy blowing 170CFM (2000RPM) fans.
If your looking for quiet, these are not the ones. If you want cooling, these do the job and then some.

    Manufacturer Responses:

Thank you very much for purchasing SilverStone. The AP182 is designed to run down to 500rpm on 12V with the included controller turned to lowest setting. So if you are using a separate fan controller with it and wants to run at lower rpm, please make sure to set AP182's controller to max setting and then adjust the voltage down to 5V on the separate fan controller.
