5 out of 5 eggs Easy Backup without installing Software

Pros: I found the whole process effortless. It is a 1-2-3 step process. There is no software to install. Insert the DVD, the software searches for the photos and click the record button. I tried the manual mode to consolidate photos that I had saved on various flash and USB drives. It just a matter of navigating the easy to use interface to the appropriate drive, select the photos you want to save and press the record button. The Photo Save DVD supports multiple recording sessions allowing you to add more photos later. The disk recognizes more than 80 different photo file formats and you can store approximately 2000 photos.

You know how vulnerable photos can be on a Harddrive, with the PhotoSave DVD you can make multiple copies of your photos easily and affordable. Cons: I don't think there is a downside in using these. Could get expensive, but how valuable are your photos?

Bottom Line: You know how vulnerable photos can be on a Harddrive, with the PhotoSave DVD you can make multiple copies of your photos easily and affordable. Every so often a new product hits the markets and literally blows your socks off. Such is the case with Vebatim's PhotoSave DVD which the company is promoting as `the effortless way to preserve your memories. Digital cameras today afford you the opportunity to amass huge amount of pictures. You want to keep these precious memories in a safe a secure place. When was the last time you were looking at your favorite pictures on your harddrive and thought about backing them up but wish you did not have to buy an additional HD and mess with complicated backup software? 5 out of 5 eggs PhotoSave DVD by Verbatim

Pros: Really good and fast way to archive your pix to a DVD. Tried it and it comes up with an executable ready to install. Once you do, it allows saving images by folder, drive content or images in the whole of a computer with multiple drives. This DVD/App. was foolproof in operation, and after telling it to archive photos from 5 partitions, a total of 13,471 images, for 5.52 GB. It went almost operator free until it required and requested the insertion of a second DVD. The best part was that on a 32 year old computer running Vista, it took only 25 minutes to complete. The cons are that each DVD is around $3.00 but how often does one need to archive the whole image contents of your computer? Verbatim claims it will save up to 2,000 images. I saved all 13,471 of mine and the ease of doing the save virtually unattended was worth the price.

Cons: One does have to use a second PhotoSave DVD to continue on if the total is greater than 4.3 GB. The cons are that each DVD is around $3.00 but how often does one need to archive the whole image contents of your computer? The ease of doing the save virtually unattended was worth the price.

Bottom Line: Verbatim claims it will save up to 2,000 images. The best part was that on a 2 year old computer running Vista, it took less than 25 minutes to complete a save of all 13,471 of mine with only one operator input.

5 out of 5 eggs Great For Low Experienced Peeps

Pros: Stick the dvd in your BURNER and follow the instructions. It finds the pics for you and burns them for you. Supports disk spanning. Easy as falling off a log. Puts them in original file structure on DVD

Cons: Kinda high priced per each, but how much are your pics worth?

Bottom Line: The easier backups are to make, the likelier they are to get done. Worth every penny. Can't believe the guy that rated it low because he thought it would burn DVDs without a burner... Sheesh! They are supposed come out with one that backs-up docs and e-mail.

1 out of 5 eggs DVD BURNER NEEDED

    Pros: Shipping was excellent

Cons: Think before you buy. I thought, well not very correctly, that you could burn a DVD with this product even though your system doesn't have a DVD burner. Don't make my mistake. You may have a CD burner and a DVD player, but make sure you can "burn" a DVD with you system. I have to pay more attention to details.

Bottom Line: I think a portable hard drive would work better than this product. I figured that out later. I even have an 80 gig portable hard drive and still bought these DVDs. I was having a very bad day.
