2 out of 5 eggs Ugh

Pros: - The installation steps were simple and geared towards someone with little to no computer knowledge - which is fine. Great job so far.
    - Looks good

Cons: - This is not a techie-friendly NAS
    - When it fails, it fails hard, see below

Bottom Line: I have a somewhat unsual setup and had quite a time getting this system configured. I added 1 egg since my setup is not typical.

However, adapting the NAS to my setup (no DHCP, no always on internet) was quite a chore. This is simple to do with most network based products, but not this one. Additionally, the device is REQUIRED to be registered with verbatim online or else IT WON'T FUNCTION (regular check-ins required? I don't know).

When I did finally get the system up and running, it would only connect one hot-plugged USB drive. I couldn't access any menus on the device (HTTP interface no response after initial login). My mistake, I rebooted the NAS and hotplugged a second USB HDD. The NAS proceeded to corrupt the partition on this drive. I was able to recover some files, but what a pain!
