Features five scanning modes

The regular scan setting gives accurate readings with a depth up to .75 inches, but theres also a deep scan mode that can reach up to 1.5 inches. The two settings give you some options if youre having trouble getting a consistent reading.

Most people will find the accuracy of this model perfect for home projects. On top of regular functionality, the tool even incorporates an arrow indicator light and live wire warning.

Stud 1/2 in. Scan:Locates the center and edges of wood and metal studs up to 1/2 in. (13mm)deep.
Stud 1 in. Scan:Locates the center and edges of wood and metal studs up to 1 in. (25mm)deep.
Stud 1 1/2 in. Scan:Locates the center and edges of wood and metal studs up to 1 1/2 in. (38mm)deep.
Metal Scan:Detects metal up to 2.36in. (50mm)deep.
AC Scan:Detects live unshielded AC wires up to 2in. (60mm)deep.

Finding a Wood Stud

Place the product on the wall and calibrate it before use. Press the mode switch button to choose scan modes with the scanner placed flat against the wall. Wait for the reducing bars to disappear and beep to confirm has completed before moving the scanner.

Slowly slide the tool across a surface. A bottom pointed arrow and EDGE indication will illuminate, indicating the location of the stud edge.

Continue sliding the scanner. When the center of a stud is located, the full bars on the Signal Strength Indicator, the pointed arrow on the top of the bars, the CENTER indication will all show and the buzzer will sound.
