Hardware installation

for some devices which need power supply, selecting the functionality of the 9th pin of each serial port, put the jumper cap on the correct location to meet the requirement of your serial device, refer to figure 1 for details



Warning: check your serial device

Carefully for the power voltage

Requirement.

1. Turn Off the power to your computer.

2. Open the computer case, refer to your computer user manual for more details

3. find an available MINI PCIe slot and remove the slot bracket, save the bracket screw for later use.

4.insert the card to the MINIPCIE slot firmly and evenly, take care not to force it into the slot, once you have properly positioned the card into the slot, secure it with the screw you have just saved.

5.connect the serial cable and parallel cable to the multi I/O card

6.find two empty expansion slot on the back panel of the computer case and remove the metal bracket, cave the bracket for later use.

7.place the seral and parallel bracket on the expansion slot on the back panel and secure it with the bracket screw you have just saved

8. Replace the computer cover and reconnect the power cord.

Install Drivers

Windows Operating Systems

1.Start Windows and insert the driver CD into the CD-ROM drive, assume drive D.

2.Windows will automatically detect the card, Ignore the driver installation wizard.

3.Browse to the following folder on the driver CD according to your operation system:

For Windows operation system(32bit):

D:\WCH38XDRV\PCISETUP.exe

1.Run PCISETUP.exe to start driver installation.

2.Select Auto identify card and click install driver

3.After the installation finish, click OK and click Exit to close the software

4.Once driver installation is completed, refresh for hardware changes.

For windows operation system(64bit):

D:\WCH38XDRV\SETUPX64\PCISETUP64.exe

1.Run PCISETUP64.exe to start driver installation.

2.Select Auto identify card and click install driver

3.After the installation finish, click ok and click Exit to close the software

4.Once driver installation is completed, refresh for hardware changes.


To Verify Windows® Driver Installation

Click on the Device Manager tab in System Properties, which you access from the Windows Control Panel. If you use the 2S card, you should see two PCI express SERIAL installed under Ports (COM & LPT) item.
