The Alphacool ES Jet LGA 4677 / SP5 LGA 6096 1U is a CPU water block for 1U server and workstation systems, for Intel LGA 4677 and LGA 4710 and AMD SP5 (LGA 6096). This CPU cooler was specially developed by Alphacool for powerful processors on Intel's socket LGA 4677. With the supplied bracket it now also supports the SP5 socket from AMD.
For LGA 4677 the manual has you plug the carrier and the CPU together, put the cooler on both and screw on the nuts. A carrier is not on the box list: we stock the ES Socket 4677 CPU Carrier E1A and the E1B. For SP5 you remove the clamps from the block and attach the two mounting brackets with the M3x6mm screws, and the manual gives a torque of 0.5 Nm. The compatibility list on Alphacool's page and data sheet has LGA 4710, while both manuals are titled for LGA 4677 and SP5 only.
A new feature is that, for the first time, the water is distributed over the cooler base via four nozzles. With the help of this nozzle technology all cores of the processor are optimally covered, Alphacool says, and thus cooled more effectively and with greater precision. Thanks to the change from one to four nozzles, it rates the block as able to reliably dissipate waste heat of up to 800 watts.
The cooler base has been optimized specifically for the large processor cores. Its four nozzles are not milled, but naturally incorporated into the cooler. Alphacool calls the result an organic water flow: it ensures a smooth water flow and thus increases the cooling performance. The entire cooler is made of nickel-plated copper. In Alphacool's words, copper has almost twice the thermal conductivity of aluminum and is therefore particularly suitable for server or workstation systems.
Despite the large cooler base and the four nozzles, the ES Jet is compact and flat. In order to mount the cooler in server racks without any issues, the connections sit where they save room. Alphacool's page and data sheet say they are located on the side.
The included thermal paste is Alphacool's Subzero, with a thermal conductivity of 16 W/mK. This Thermal Grease is electrically non-conductive and particularly well suited for high contact pressures. Alphacool says it can still be processed perfectly due to the viscosity of 3,000,000 mPa. s.
The block has two G1/4 threads, and both take the compression fittings for your tube size, which are not in the box. The loop also needs a pump and a radiator.
