The Alphacool Core Thermal Pad Soft 9W/mk 100x100x3mm is a soft, silicone-based thermal pad for electronic components: one 100 x 100 mm sheet, 3.0 mm thick, rated at 9.0 W/mK (±10%). It is electrically non-conductive, and Alphacool's article number is 13419. The next thickness down in the same sheet size is the 2 mm sheet.
Alphacool calls this its performance thermal pad. It can be used to cool electronic components of all kinds, in any place where it is essential to effectively dissipate waste heat. The first places Alphacool names are the voltage converters and VRAMs on graphics cards. In addition, it says the electronic components of Playstation and Xbox game consoles can also be cooled, greatly improving their performance and durability.
Alphacool says the Soft heat conduction pad is characterized by optimal compressibility. Due to its low hardness and a natural stickiness, the sheet adapts perfectly to surfaces and compensates for unevenness between components, in the maker's words. That, Alphacool claims, thus ensures a significant improvement in heat transfer. The data sheet lists five points for the pad: high thermal conductivity, low thermal resistance, high compressibility and compliancy, natural tack and good electrical insulation.
The special material composition of the Core pad reduces the risk of silicone bleeding, according to Alphacool. By the maker's account it can be used for a substantially longer period of time than conventional heat conduction pads without significantly losing performance.
Alphacool describes the electrical insulation as excellent. For that reason it lists more places the pad can go: electronic components in electric vehicles, autopilot systems, cell phones, servers, motherboards and power supplies. LCD TVs, notebooks, telecommunication devices, access points, memory modules, etc. are named too.
In its packaging the pad measures 130 x 130 x 4 mm and weighs 117 g.
