The Alphacool Core Distro Plate 240 Right D5/DDC V.2 with D5 Apex Pump is a 240mm distribution plate made of acrylic, with the pump top on the right and Alphacool's VPP Apex pump included. It can be mounted on the radiator or the panel of the case. Alphacool builds the V.2 plate in 240mm or 360mm versions, each available with left or right positioning of the pump top: we carry the 240 Left, the 360 Right and the 360 Left.
Chrome-plated G1/4 brass fittings are the core element of Alphacool's Core Design series. In this plate these sit directly embedded in the acrylic, and Alphacool says that is effectively eliminating the risk of leaks caused by cracking. Each of the two-piece fittings is equipped with O-rings, and the halves interlock within the acrylic. According to Alphacool this is ensuring maximum sealing and a clean, high-quality appearance.
For custom water cooling systems Alphacool calls the V.2 the ideal solution. The redesigned platform, it says, offers significantly greater installation flexibility and simplifies the planning, assembly, and maintenance of even complex water loops. The Distro Plate allows for particularly short and clean tubing runs, thanks to its reduced depth and an optimized arrangement of the G1/4 fittings. The side drain port also enables easy and controlled draining of the loop. In Alphacool's words this makes the plate ideal for custom water loops that simultaneously cool the CPU and one or more graphics cards.
Alphacool makes the plate of what it calls high-quality acrylic glass, and it offers a clear view of the coolant. The integrated digital aRGB lighting provides, as Alphacool puts it, a brilliant display of colors. The lighting can be controlled via a digital aRGB header on the motherboard or optionally via the Alphacool Aurora Eiscontrol aRGB controller (part no. 15360).
Either VPP/D5 or DDC pumps can be installed, thanks to a redesigned pump bracket. Under pump compatibility, the technical data below lists VPP/D5. The VPP Apex in the box features a ceramic shaft and an optimized motor design, resulting, Alphacool says, in exceptionally quiet, low-vibration, and efficient operation. Speed control is achieved via a 4-pin PWM connector, which connects to the motherboard or to an external controller. A SATA connector on the power supply is how the pump is powered.
Alphacool's Core Push Mounting Kit is included. According to Alphacool this significantly simplifies installation, ensures a secure fit of the distribution plate to the case panel or radiator, and allows for easy removal for maintenance or upgrades. Push mounting adds to the H dimension: the plate alone goes from 34.50 mm to 62.30 mm, and the plate with pump from 62.20 mm to 88.80 mm.
In the box are the pump, its O-ring, the four M4x22 pump screws, an Allen key and a plug tool. Every G1/4 port you use takes one compression fitting. For the ports left over, three G1/4 plugs are included. The pump needs a 4-pin PWM header and a SATA power connector. The lighting needs a 5V digital aRGB header, and an ARGB adapter is in the box.
