Alphacool G1/4" Eiszapfen Pressure Valve, Deep Black Fitting (17361)

The Alphacool Eiszapfen Pressure Valve G1/4 - Deep Black is a pressure relief valve with a G1/4 thread for a water cooling loop, one valve per pack. It releases at a pressure of 0.3-0.4 kg/cm² at 4.3-5.7 psi, which Alphacool also gives as 0.3-0.4 bar.

When a loop needs one

In common systems a standard reservoir, which Alphacool calls an expansion tank, usually suffices to level the occurring pressure differences. The parts installed in a system are also usually pressure-tested up to at least 2 bar. But users with seriously large cooling loops, with a lot of components in the circuit, see extreme temperature differences between standby and operation. Those may cause such high pressures that it is advisable to release the pressure to avoid damages. Alphacool sells the valve for even more safety in your system.

What the loop needs

The valve needs one free G1/4 port. It can, for example, easily be screwed into a T-piece from our splitter fittings and therefore be installed at any point of the loop. Some reservoirs also offer additional openings which are usually equipped with plug caps, and at these threads the valve goes in just as easily. Due to the thread size and the short thread length of only 4 mm, this valve can be used in just about any spot of the watercooling system. The low profile, only 16 mm without the thread, also makes it very versatile. An O-ring seal at the thread, on the underside of the valve, gives added security against leaks.

Notes

• Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
