The Alphacool Eiszapfen G1/4 Inline Temperature Sensor - Chrome is an inline water temperature sensor, female to female: a G1/4 threaded opening on both sides, with a standard 2-pin connection, one sensor per pack. A G1/4 male to male adapter is also included, so the sensor can be used in multiple configurations.
Inline, it can be utilized with a radiator, a reservoir, a graphics card, a CPU waterblock, etc. With the adapter screwed in, Alphacool says it fits all exposed G1/4 threaded openings on the radiator, expansion tank, graphics card cooler or CPU cooler. To place it just before the expansion tank instead, remove the adapter and screw a connection into the G1/4 thread on both sides.
The fitting is fully encapsulated and therefore completely sealed, for worry free operation without leaks. It is galvanized, and Alphacool says that thanks to the nickel plating there are no corrosion problems.
A standard 2-pin connection allows use with most temperature displays (fan controllers) and motherboards. Alphacool promises full functionality with any standard PC temperature indicator. It adds that you can control your PC independently of the BIOS sensors, which it calls double protection, similar to redundancy (double security) in the professional sector. The 50cm long cable will allow the use of the sensor in even a full tower case (Alphacool: big towers), for maximum compatibility.
This 10kOhm temperature sensor is compatible with the following devices, among others:
Used inline, each female thread takes one fitting with a G1/4 male thread, so two in all. With the adapter in place, that side screws straight into a port.
