The Alphacool Core Thermal Pad Soft 9W/mk 40x40x3mm is a silicone-based thermal pad, 40 x 40 mm and 3.0 mm thick, with a thermal conductivity of 9.0 W/mK. It is pink, electrically non-conductive and comes as one pad per pack.
Alphacool calls this its performance thermal pad. It can be used to cool electronic components of all kinds where it is essential to effectively dissipate waste heat. The usual places are the voltage converters and VRAMs on graphics cards. In addition, the electronic components of Playstation and Xbox game consoles can be cooled, greatly improving their performance and durability according to Alphacool.
The Soft heat conduction pad is characterized by what Alphacool calls optimal compressibility. Due to its low hardness and a natural stickiness, Alphacool says, it adapts perfectly to surfaces and compensates for unevenness between components. That, the maker says, thus ensures a significant improvement in heat transfer. The data sheet lists the same points in short form: high thermal conductivity, low thermal resistance, high compressibility and compliancy, natural tack and good electrical insulation.
The special material composition of the Core pad reduces the risk of silicone bleeding. Alphacool says it can be used for a substantially longer period of time than conventional pads without significantly losing performance.
Alphacool rates the electrical insulation as excellent, so the pad can also sit on parts well away from a gaming PC. Its list: electric vehicles, autopilot systems, cell phones, servers, motherboards, power supplies, LCD TVs, notebooks, telecommunication devices, access points, memory modules, etc.
