The Alphacool ES Chiller 1000 ServerRack 5HE 110-120V / 60hz is a 5U rack compressor chiller for water cooling systems in servers and workstations, with an integrated pump, a built-in reservoir and G1/4 connections. All in One

This compressor cooling system is equipped with a pump of its own, so the chiller takes on the task of both circulating and cooling the coolant, ensuring that the desired temperature is maintained. Its display can be used to configure various settings, including temperature control in precise 0.3 °C increments. A built-in reservoir holds a capacity of 4 liters.

Pump

Thanks to the integrated pump, with a maximum delivery head of up to 10 m, the chiller can be integrated directly into the cooling loop. An extra pump is not necessary.

Protection

For the sake of additional protection, the compressor has overcurrent protection. An alarm warns if the flow rate is too low or the temperature is too high.

Rack mounting

The housing is designed for the 5U form factor. Alphacool describes the unit as a high performance cooling system for server and workstation environments. Its sibling outside the ServerRack line is the ES Chiller 1000.

What the loop needs

The G1/4 connections are compatible with common connections for water cooling systems. Inlet and outlet are G1/4 inner threads, so the chiller takes two G1/4 fittings. The reservoir and the rest of the loop still need coolant.

Performance calculation

The cooling capacity moves with three factors: the water outlet temperature (Fw), the ambient temperature (Fa) and the percentage of glycol in the coolant (Fg). Formula: 1.08kW * Fw * Fa * Fg.

Example: a chiller that delivers 1.08kW cooling capacity, with a water outlet temperature of 30 °C, an ambient temperature of 40 °C and 30 % glycol. Calculation: 1.08kW * 1.64 * 0.87 * 0.91 = 1.4kW.
