The Alphacool Eiszeit 2000 Chiller - Black 110-120V / 60hz is a compressor cooler for water cooling loops with a cooling capacity of 1.41/1.70 kW, an integrated pump and a 9L reservoir. It runs on 110-120V and connects through two G1/4 threads on the rear, one IN and one OUT. Unlike most so-called Chillers or circulating coolers, it brings its own pump.

Temperature control

What you get with the "Eiszeit" is a compressor cooler designed by Alphacool. It will keep your system, or more than one system, at the temperature you pre-set, automatically regulated for you. Entering the settings is easily done through the Eiszeit's display, in precise increments of 0.3° Kelvin. You can reach and hold temperatures down to the adjustable minimum temperature of 20 °C.

Pump and connections

Alphacool names the integrated high-performance pump as another highlight: this means a separate one is no longer necessary. If the pump performance proves to be too strong for your parts, a restrictor goes into the cooling loop via a ball valve or check valve. Nearly all standard water cooling attachments can fit the G1/4 connectors. Alphacool says this gives the chiller outstanding compatibility compared to other current products like CPU coolers and graphics card coolers.

What the loop needs

Alphacool calls using the chiller relatively simple. It is connected to the cooling loop with two G1/4 fittings, and after connecting it the loop needs to be filled via the fill port on top. Besides the 9L the integrated reservoir holds, you will additionally need enough coolant to fill the complete loop, however far it runs through your system.
