Product Description:
The BQ25570 Boost Power Converter Energy Collector Module is designed to harvest and manage low-power energy from high-output-impedance DC sources. It combines a boost charging circuit for energy storage with a regulated buck output for low-power systems, including wireless sensor networks and monitoring applications.
Core Selling Points:
Efficiently extracts microwatts to milliwatts of power from photovoltaic solar sources, thermal electric generators, and other energy harvesters without collapsing the input source. Supports continuous energy harvesting from VIN as low as 100 mV and provides a 330 mV cold-start voltage. Integrated battery management helps prevent rechargeable batteries from overcharging or being depleted beyond safe limits. Programmable maximum power point tracking supports optimal energy extraction. The buck output offers efficiency up to 93% and supports peak output current up to 110 mA typical. Programmable output flags can warn microcontrollers of pending power loss and help enable or disable system loads. Full operating quiescent current is 488 nA typical, with ship mode drawing less than 5 nA from the battery.
