Product Description:
Electrical professionals often need to trace cables or wiring systems, determine which fuse or circuit breaker corresponds to a specific circuit, or identify and trace metal pipes, heating lines, or underground cables. The new MS6818 Cable Tracer is designed to assist users in these tasks.
Working Principle:
The MS6818 Cable Tracer consists of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter applies a modulated AC voltage to the target cable, generating an electric field around the cable. The receiver is equipped with a coil when placed near the conductor, the flux lines pass through the coil and into the receiver. This phenomenon induces a small voltage in the coil, which is processed by the receiver's electronic circuitry and displayed on the screen. A key feature of the MS6818 is that the transmitted signal is digitally encoded, ensuring clear signal reception and preventing false readings caused by interference fields (such as from electronic fluorescent ballasts or frequency converters).
Applications:
This instrument is widely used in communications cable installation, power cable construction, building pipeline installation, and maintenance of communications cables, power supply circuits, and heating lines. It is an essential tool for frontline construction and maintenance personnel.
Trace cables and electrical lines buried in walls and underground
Locate open and short circuits in electrical lines
Identify fuses and their associated circuits
Locate covered sockets and junction boxes
Detect open and short circuits in underfloor electric heating systems
Features:
Transmitter includes a built-in AC/DC voltmeter linearly measures 12400V AC/DC
Transmitter displays transmission power level, encoding, battery status, measured external voltage value and type, and high-voltage warning symbols all also displayed on the receiver
Transmitter has a self-test function; receiver sensitivity can be adjusted automatically or manually
Receiver has an auto-scan function; both transmitter and receiver feature a mute function for use in quiet environments such as hospitals
Additional transmitters can be used for expansion or signal differentiation
