The Alphacool NexXxos ST30 Full Copper 360mm Prefilled AIO Edition is a prefilled 360 mm radiator for three 120 mm fans, 30 mm thick, made to expand an Alphacool CPU or GPU AIO. It arrives with TPV hoses and quick release fasteners already fitted, so you connect it to the corresponding AIO and, in Alphacool's words, enjoy higher cooling performance: it is that simple.
Alphacool counts the NexXxoS amongst the best-known radiators worldwide. It relies exclusively on copper for all components that encounter the coolant: the end chambers, the water channels and the cooling fins. Only the ports are brass, chosen due to the higher strength of the thread. With a fin density of 16 FPI the radiator can also work very well with slow rotating fans, while a higher density would mean a higher resistance and would need higher RPM. In addition, all fins have so-called "flaps". They provide for a higher air turbulence, which in turn increases the cooling capacity of the radiators.
All new AIO systems from Alphacool use TPV hoses, and so does this radiator. Alphacool describes TPV as more resistant and kink-proof than all standard PVC hoses. The hoses tolerate working temperatures from -50 to +155 °C and are therefore mainly used for industrial use. They do not contain any plasticizers that will flush out over time. That loss can make PVC hoses hard and porous, and they also change their color to a cloudy yellow. Of course, Alphacool adds, this cannot happen with the black TPV hoses. Alphacool Enterprise Solutions only uses this hose for its server and workstation customers, due to these peculiarities.
An Alphacool AIO with quick release fasteners is required. All you need to do is mount the radiator at the desired position in the case and couple the two connectors. No liquid needs to be topped up when you are using the quick disconnects, as only one or two small drips will escape. If you do this many times, a top up would obviously be suggested. Fans are not in the box: the radiator takes three 120mm fans on one side, or six with both sides in use, held by M3 screws.
