The Alphacool HF 38 Slot Cover Panama is a slot cover that passes the loop through the back of the case: four G3/8 inner threads, with adapters to G1/4 in the box. Alphacool says it lets you elegantly and easily connect external watercooling components to your internal components without having to compromise flow or cooling performance.
The Panama HF38 allows the use of G3/8 inner threads and features a special inner geometry. That geometry sustains the full inner diameter, which is usually not possible because of the specified slot dimensions. In overview, the main feature is a maximum hose inner diameter of 18 millimeters without constriction. So external radiators, pumps or chillers can be connected with full flow and without drilling, and a new case with hose feedthroughs is not needed. Alphacool calls the slot cover extremely flexible, one that truly upgrades your case and cooling system, and says it can also be used in future enclosures.
The cover consists of three components and can be installed tool-free. Simply fixate the slot plate like any other, the same way you would a graphics card. The inner part is then connected to the outer part and the two are screwed together firmly. They seal safely with two O-ring seals. Neighboring slots are not obstructed by this cover. Alphacool's own advice reads "we recommend using the lowest free slot", for easy tubing management.
Use G3/8 fittings of your choice in the four threads. Should you not be using 3/8 connectors, low-profile adapter pieces are included. These extra flat adapters allow use of the cover with G1/4 fittings instead. The adapter's technical specifications are a G3/8 outer thread and a G1/4 inner thread. Alphacool adds that ball valves or large quick-release couplings can go in place of the fittings.
