The Alphacool Eiszapfen 3/8" ID x 1/2" OD G1/4 Compression Fitting - Chrome Sixpack is a pack of six straight compression fittings with a G1/4 thread. Each one takes 13/10 mm soft tube (3/8" inner, 1/2" outer diameter).

This connector has a G1/4 thread on one side, and Alphacool says it is thereby compatible with 95% of components. A 13/10mm hose (3/8" x 1/2") fits the other side.

The Eiszapfen Connector Series

Alphacool describes its Eiszapfen Connector Series as the high-end execution of these tried-and-true connectors. By its account, every requirement you could have of a connector is met with this series: highflow, form, processing and color. Alphacool puts that down to a refusal to compromise in development and production, which it says has made the series into what it is. Components are available in brilliant chrome or a deep, matte black, and Alphacool says either will fit excellently into any system.

A special procedure binds the outer coating firmly to the surface. Alphacool gives two reasons for it: improving the longevity of the intense color, and preventing any chipping or peeling of the coating. The Alphacool logo now sits on every connector, which along with their distinctive shape makes them unmistakable, Alphacool says.

On these fittings the edges of the union nut press the O-ring firmly against the hose, so that it sits securely. Alphacool's scope of delivery for this pack lists the six fittings alone.

What a run needs

The thread screws into any G1/4 port, and the hose side takes soft tube. A tube run takes two fittings, one at each end, so the pack covers three runs.

Notes

• Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
