Alphacool Eiszapfen Temperature Sensor Plug G1/4 - Chrome (17364)

The Alphacool Eiszapfen Temperature Sensor Plug G1/4 - Chrome is a 10kOhm water temperature sensor in the shape of a plug that can be screwed into any standard G1/4 female thread. It has a 50 cm cable with a 2-Pin connection, and one sensor comes per pack.

Where it goes

This sensor is simply screwed into a G1/4 thread, and nothing else has to be fitted. Alphacool names all exposed G1/4 threaded openings as places for it: on the radiator, on the expansion tank, or in a T-piece that is integrated in the circuit. With 50 cm of cable it can reach across even a full tower case, and Alphacool calls the long cable suitable for big towers as well.

How it is built

The body is fully encapsulated and therefore completely sealed, and it is fully coated on the outside. Alphacool credits the nickel plating for that, so corrosion is a non issue. The plug is available in both Chrome and Deep Black, and the Deep Black version is the same sensor in the other color.

What it needs

Monitor your loop's temperature and give yourself some peace about what the water is doing. Keep in mind that the sensor only measures: the 2-Pin connection has to go to a sensor input on the motherboard or on a fan controller. Alphacool says it has full functionality with any PC temperature indicator that is compatible with standard PC temperature indicators. It also lets you control your PC independently of the BIOS sensors. Alphacool describes that as double protection, similar to the "redundancy" (double security) known from the professional sector.

Notes

• Alphacool's note on application: use it only together with clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage water cooling products such as radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses.
