Thermal Grizzly Caliper (TG-CAL-150)

Thermal Grizzly's TG Caliper is an affordable digital caliper for PC building, with a measuring range of up to 150 mm / 6 inches. It can be used, for example, to measure the thickness of thermal pads or the length of screws.

What it measures

The tool takes outside, inside, step, and depth measurements, which Thermal Grizzly says covers the most important measuring functions in the PC DIY segment. Before ordering pads such as the Minus Pad Basic, check the gap they have to fill. Other typical measurements include determining the inside and outside diameters as well as the wall thickness of soft and hard tubes. Those are the numbers that decide which compression fittings fit, such as the DeltaMate 16/10 for soft tube.

Display and ZERO function

The measured values are displayed on the LCD in mm/in, so in either the metric or the imperial system. The ZERO function allows one measurement to be compared easily with another.

Build and handling

Because the caliper is made of plastic, it is rust-resistant, and the IP54 rating covers dust and splashes. An ergonomically textured thumbrest makes for easier, ergonomic handling. The device is powered by an LR44 battery, and two of them are included in the scope of delivery, one of them as a spare. The caliper itself weighs 48 g.

General Notes

• Keep measuring surfaces clean.
• Clean only with alcohol-based cleaners.
• Protect from moisture and dust, electrical voltage and impact damage.
• Remove the batteries when the caliper is not in continuous use.

Battery Disposal (according to the German Battery Act - BattG)

• Batteries and rechargeable batteries contain both valuable resources and harmful substances, so they must not be disposed of in household waste.
• For this reason, the German law says consumers are legally required to return them to authorized collection points.
• Used ones can be returned free of charge to municipal collection points or recycling centers, as well as to any retailer that sells them. Additionally, Thermal Grizzly writes that returns can be made "at our shipping warehouse", meaning its own in Germany.
• All types are affected, regardless of shape, size, weight, material composition, or intended use. The law therefore also applies to batteries that are built into or included with products.
