Commonly called \u201cDB connectors\u201d or \u201cD-subs,\u201d these compact connectors take their name from their characteristic D-shaped shield, which protects both sides of the connector from mechanical and electromagnetic interference. The shield\u2019s asymmetric shape also ensures that it only attaches to its corresponding connector in the correct orientation. D-sub connectors are basic yet popular input-output connectors used in various applications in Telecommunications, Data, Consumer, Industrial, Military, Instrumentation and Medical arenas. The adapter not work for HDB15pin VGA port. D-Sub ports are used for connecting external devices to a computer. They are an older method of connection, but some modern computers still contain them.
