Thermal Grizzly's Minus Pad extreme 2 thermal pad (Minus Pad Extreme V2), one gray sheet of 100 x 100 mm, 0.5 mm thick. Need strips instead? The same thickness comes as two 120 x 20 mm strips.
The pad is designed for high-performance applications, and Thermal Grizzly describes its thermal conductivity as outstanding. Its material blend has three individual components: aluminum oxide, aluminum hydroxide and aluminum powder. Their particle sizes differ, and due to those varying sizes even the smallest gaps in the carrier material (matrix) can be filled with thermally conductive particles. This is especially true for the surfaces, top and bottom, where the optimized material composition offers low thermal interface resistance and promotes optimal heat transfer.
According to the data sheet, the pad is the successor to the minus pad extreme, and the most significant difference is the new material composition. Thermal Grizzly says the result is an improved price-performance ratio, with thermal conductivity kept at a level comparable to the predecessor and a lower thermal interface resistance. The consistency is softer as well. A soft consistency allows the pad to conform well to the surfaces of the heat source and the cooler. Its compressibility is comparable to that of the minus pad extreme and the Minus Pad Basic.
The pad is electrically non-conductive. It needs no curing: it does not cure or harden over time, even with extended use.
Thermal Grizzly makes the pad in dimensions of 100 x 100 mm (1 sheet per pack) and 120 x 20 mm (2 strips per pack). The thicknesses are 0.5 mm, 1 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm. This one is the 0.5 mm sheet. We also stock the sheet in 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm. The 3.0 mm thickness is a pair of strips only.
