4 out of 5 eggs They seem VERY disorganized!

The listing on Newegg.com is a mess! In one place it says it has a N95 CPU, in another it says N100 CPU. In one place it says 8GB RAM, in another it says 16 GB RAM. In one place it says a 256GB SSD, in another, 512GB SSD. In one place it was a "T8 mini" model and in another it was a "T8 PLUS" model. But there WAS a "Product Spec" that spelled it all out. T8 PLUS model with N100 CPU 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. So I ordered it. What I got was a box labeled "T8PRO" on top and "T8PLUS" on the bottom. The label on the bottom of the box indicated N95 CPU, 8GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. The label on the computer itself, inside the box, matched the bottom of the box. It seems they don't know what they are actually shipping? Since this wasn't what I ordered, I immediately returned it. Thank goodness for Newegg's return process!

4 out of 5 eggs Small, versatile

While I normally don't use Windows, I bought this so I can continue to use the Windows programs I still use after Win 10 is no longer supported in 2025. I like that this comes with a 512GB SATA SSD drive and 16GB RAM. There is an extra slot for an NVME SSD drive, which I will probably install sometime in the future. I reduced the size of the Windows partition and then installed MXLinux 23 so I can dual-boot Windows and Linux. While the N100 is a relatively slow processor, I was able to run virtual machines using Virtualbox with reasonable speed. The two USB3 and two USB2 ports provide adequate USB support. I did not perform any benchmarks, but the system seems similar or better in performance compared to my aging i3 and i5 computers. I do not run games, so I cannot give any comment on game performance. I suspect that performance would be poor for most action games. I do have this connected to a KVM switch so I can switch among systems in my 'computer room'. If I have the monitor connected to the KVM and another monitor installed directly to the other HDMI port, the video is paused for about one second as the computer decides how to handle the change in monitor connections. This would be an issue if you are planning to record video live. To avoid the monitor change detection, you would just run the computer with its own monitor and not connect the monitor to the KVM. I ran a power test and found that briefly during power-up, the computer draws 22Watts and soon drops to about 14Watts. After the login/bootup processes are complete, the power used drops to just under 8Watts. During normal use, I found the power use would periodically go up to the 10-14Watt range but could go higher if a CPU intensive operation is running. The expansion cover is held on with magnets as the base to hold the computer vertical. The system can also be used horizontally by leaving the base off. This comes with Win 11 Pro already installed, release 22H2. I upgraded to 23H2 before adding the Linux installation. This is an excellent system for surfing the internet, e-mails, creating and editing spreadsheets and text documents (need to add a program for that, like Microsoft Office or Libre Office). The only con is that the manual appeared to be for the Firebat T8.

4 out of 5 eggs Great seller

No problems with shipping or delivery. The mini PC is as described. Set up was pretty much typical. I can recommend this seller if you are in the market for a mini PC.
