The Advanced VX is the smallest of Celestron's German equatorial mounts, featuring computerized GoTo capability that automatically tracks celestial objects as they traverse the night sky. It includes ports for a hand control, an autoguider, and 2 AUX ports for optional accessories. The NexStar+ hand control provides instant access to all the mount's functions, making it user-friendly for astronomers at any level. The mount comes with a robust tripod, featuring 2" diameter steel legs for an extra-wide stance, ensuring improved stability. It has a payload capacity of 30 lb, providing a sturdy platform for any of the Advanced VX optical tubes, even when used with optional accessories like StarSense AutoAlign, Focus Motor, a finderscope, and a camera.
As of early 2019, Advanced VX mounts now come with a new dual saddle plate that accommodates both CG-5 and CGE-style dovetail, making it compatible with virtually any optical tube within its weight limit. The Celestron PWI Telescope Control Software, co-developed with PlaneWave Instruments, is an all-in-one solution offering many of the same features used on observatory-class telescopes. It provides a graphical planetarium interface with PointXP advanced mount modelling for the most accurate pointing and tracking possible. The package also includes a free download of Celestron's Starry Night Special Edition Software, offering detailed information about celestial objects and helping you plan your next observing or imaging session.
The Celestron Polar Axis Finder aids in polar aligning your mount. It features a reticle etched with recognizable star patterns to help you align your telescope. Whether you're in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere, this finder will guide you to align your telescope accurately, enhancing your stargazing experience.
