USB Light Behavior - Not Defective, Here's Why!

This is actually expected behavior for many modern USB ports. Here’s why:

What’s Happening:

USB ports (especially on power strips/surge protectors) often have a smart power-saving feature.

If the port doesn’t detect active current draw (like when your light is plugged in but switched off), it may automatically shut off power after a period of inactivity (often 10-30 minutes).

When you try turning the light on later, the USB port has already "gone to sleep" and won’t reactivate until it detects a fresh connection. That’s why unplugging/replugging "resets" it.

Why This Isn’t a Defect:

This design saves energy and prevents phantom power drain when devices are idle. It’s intentional, though admittedly inconvenient for lights with manual switches!
