The GPIO module can be used for building interactive kiosks with buttons. Alternatively, the module can be connected to a motion sensor or proximity sensor to trigger video playback when people comes close to the screen. Simple Integration PIO-102 requires the minimal amount of external circuitry by using simple open-close circuits on the input and output ports. To drive an input signal, simply short the input pin to ground. To drive a device with an output signal, simply use the output pin as a path to ground which opens and closes depending on output state (open-drain).
System Requirements USB 1.1 or 2.0 connection between host computer and the GPIO (power is provided via USB) Included software requires Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 with. NET framework 3.5 (only for systems where the devices will be configured; the target system needs no software installation for the device to operate as a standard USB keyboard and joystick)
