There are currently 3 generations of X1 laptops. This internal 20A7 battery is used on all laptops that begin with type 20A7 or 20A8. This Lenovo 20A7 battery was originally announced on Jan 7, 2014. You can find your "battery type number" on the bottom of your laptop. The type number will precede your laptop's serial number which is abbreviated as S/N.
