Overview
CPS 50 is a fanless PC powered by NXP i.MX8M Plus Cortex®-A53 quad core processor with Neural Network Accelerator up to 2.3 TOPS designed for advanced machine learning inference at the industrial and IoT (Internet-of-Things) edge that require high-performance and low power consumption. CPS 50 comes with onboard 2GB LPDDR4 memory, 32GB eMMC, and internal Micro SD slot for storage expansion. CPS 50 packs all-you-need peripheral connectivity and offers flexibility with a modular rear I/O design for easy customization. The CPS 50 offers strong connectivity - Ethernet-based LAN ports and traditional serial ports, mainly for Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU communication. For wireless connectivity, CPS 50 has mini-PCIe and M.2 sockets that can support optional wireless modules for IoT applications, for example, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, and 5G modules as well as a storage module. CPS 50 supports a wide DC input range from 9-30VDC. All of the features make CPS 50 suitable for various applications such as edge AI, M2M intelligent systems, and factory automation platforms.

CPS 50-N01 Industrial ARM-Based IoT Gateway Designed for the Future


CPS 50-N01 is the latest slim fanless embedded system equipped with the powerful i.MX 8M Plus processor, excellent for machine learning, vision, advanced multimedia, and industrial IoT applications. These AI-native platforms empower AI and edge computing in intelligent vision-based edge devices that require a small footprint, low latency, high power efficiency, and advanced precision. i.MX 8M Plus Arm® Cortex®-A53 Processor


CPS 50-N01 i.MX 8M Plus-based solution features four core 1.6 GHz Cortex®-A53 processor supported by a Cortex®-M7 co-processor for real-time control. This is accelerated by dual ISPs and an integrated NPU. Delivering up to 2.3 TOPS, it facilitates powerful image and AI inferencing capabilities while consuming less power comparing to calculations by the core CPUs alone. Such features enable the platform for AI applications like object detection, recognition, classification, and pose estimation.




Machine Learning and Vision


Edge AI applications including facial recognition and product assembly optimization require premium camera inputs. CPS 50-N01 offers 1 x MIPI-CSI camera interface with built-in hardware ISP to enable intelligent vision-based systems, delivering advanced 4K performance. It supports one HDMI port, one dual-channel LVDS, or one 4-lane MIPI-DSI display interface for facial recognition, object detection, digital signage, machine learning and vision applications.




Flexible I/O and Peripherals


The CPS 50-N01 comes with 2GB of integrated LPDDR4 memory with ECC, 32GB eMMC, and Gigabit Ethernet with TSN that provides Ethernet-connected deterministic control with precise time synchronization. It features a module rear I/O mechanical design for connection with application-oriented I/O expansion boards. Developers can select I/O extension boards for more peripheral connectivity.




Likewise, CPS 50-N01 provides the necessary I/O for advanced network and peripheral connectivity. Coastline ports include 2 x GbE, 1 x HDMI, 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1, and USB 2.0, RS-232/422/485. Internal connections include MIPI-CSI camera interface, LVDS, or optional MIPI-DSI display interfaces. Expansion features include an optional choice of expansion boards available by request with additional RS-232, CAN, USB 2.0, and GbE ports.




NexAIoT provides image and standard BSP (Board Support Package) support for Linux Yocto and offers design-in services to help customers quickly create their applications.




Expansion Capabilities and Connectivity for Edge AI


There are also M.2 Key E and mini-PCIe, accompanied by a nano SIM card slot with optional Wi-Fi/BT and LTE modules. These features make the CPS 50-N01 perfect for edge AI and machine learning industrial applications for calculations, line productivity monitoring, and improving manufacturing safety.
