It means you will talk to REAL people — people with a great, positive attitude, people who have gigabytes of information in front of them and in their brain, people with experience, and people with a personality. The Safe Harbor staff is friendly, eager to help, knowledgeable, and fully equipped to steer you in the right direction. In addition to our own expertise, our custom, in-house database includes vendor phone numbers, contact names of real people, web addresses, and FAQs, so if WE can't help you with your question right there, on the spot, we'll find a source, and then BOTH of us will know the answer.

We are here only to help you, our valued customer. If we are also privileged to earn your trust with an order you place with us, we will treat your request personally, every step of the way. Your order and customer information are checked and double-checked; shipping charges are reviewed; we'll suggest alternate shipping methods if it makes sense; we'll give you ETA's, other available products to enhance your purchase, what tutorials might be helpful, and the delivery method. If you also need to know the shipping origination, product registration information, how to upgrade, compatibility concerns, or options for financing your purchase, just ask.

Return Policy

Standard Return Policy

  • Return for refund within: 30 days
  • Return for replacement within: 30 days
  • Restocking Fee: 15.00%

RMA Policy

All returns require a return authorization number issued by Safe Harbor customer service. You must request a Return Authorization over the phone by calling 1-800-544-6599.
All returns, whether defective or not, must be in original packaging, including all parts, undamaged in any way. Restocking fees may be higher or we may refuse the return if this policy is not recognized.
Do not fill out warranty cards, write on manuals or boxes, submit rebate forms or register online until you are sure you'll be keeping the product. Products not meeting these conditions will be refused and returned to you at your expense.
Return any defective product meeting these conditions for exact replacement within 30 days, with no restocking fee. We pay Ground shipping on the replacement product back to you. Non-defective replacements will be shipped back to you at your expense.
Software, books and videos determined to be "defective" are returned for replacement only with the same product; we do NOT provide refunds for software, books, and videos.
Returns for refunds are subject to a 15% restocking fee. (Restocking fees cover our non-refundable merchant charge card expenses incurred in the original sale, the processing of the return product, and its reshipment to the supplier; returns for store credit are subject to a 5% restocking fee.)
Our return time-frame is a FIRM 30 days from date of invoice; after that, the manufacturer's warranty becomes effective and no returns are allowed.
Once a Return Authorization Number is provided to you, the item to be returned must be at our location within seven (7) days. Failure to meet this deadline will cause the Return Authorization Number to become invalid.

RMA instructions

When you return an item, you may see different return options available. To request:
1. Log onto your NeweggBusiness.com account. Select New RMA Request option under My Account. Find your order in order history.
2. Click Return an item from this order option to start.
3. Select the return type from Refund or Replace.
4. Select the item(s) you wish to continue.
5. Specify more details, including item quantity, and any additional comments or messages regarding your request before click SUBMIT button.
6. It will take up to 24 - 48 hours to respond to your inquiry after Customer Service Representatives receive your inquiry.
7. Once your request is approved, you will be provided with detailed instruction through e-mail. The e-mail contains RMA number, RMA details and important return shipping instruction. Read the instruction carefully before shipping your return merchandise back.
8. We strongly recommend you return your item in the same or similar packaging as they were delivered to you with all the original parts, accessories and menu/documentation included (any missing parts or accessories may result your return being rejected or your refund/replacement being delayed). Re-using the package your item came in is acceptable, as long as the packaging is in good condition and all previous addresses, tracking information and labels are removed.

4 out of 5 eggs Misleading labeling, not Thunderbolt 3 compatible

The detail is in the fine print, this drive does not support actual Thunderbolt 3 connectivity and speeds. It uses USB C which means the physical port is the same as Thunderbolt 3, which is where the "support" ends. I wouldn't have purchased the drive at all had I known that.

I was kept abreast of the status of my order without having to get it myself. The provision of tracking numbers in that email correspondence gave me confidence that the equipment would arrive on time for installment.

The delivery date kept being pushed back 3 times until I finally received my item. I understand that we're not operating in normal times now because of the lockdown but this can be taken into account in estimating the time for delivery. After all it worked out but it definitely affect my deadline on the other end of this project.

I chose to contact the manufacturer directly about a technical issue. They required me to use email and their two responses were completely unhelpful. I am going to consider contacting Safe Harbor at this point since I have lost interest in "talking" to LaCie.

4 out of 5 eggs Delivered the wrong laCie Porsche 2TB Drive now ghosting me.

Order a 2TB lacie drive model STFD2000400 (usb-C) and was delivered an outdated laCie drive model STET2000403 (Only USB 3, USB2). I called NewEgg who said that I had bought it from a third party. That I had not bought from NewEgg (Even though I went to their web site.) Then the forwarded me to the actual vendor. I got one email back and now they are ghosting me. This was a bad experience.
